GreenWaste is a locally based and privately owned company dedicated to the development of innovative and cost-effective solutions to address the everyday environmental challenges related to solid waste. We are pleased to be the new service provider for residents and businesses in the City of Palo Alto to collect recyclables and garbage from all customers and collect yard trimmings from residents of single-family homes and compostables from residents of multi-unit complexes and businesses.
We are excited to bring our unique suite of expertise and facilities to collect and process materials discarded by residents and businesses in Palo Alto and will utilize these facilities to process all recyclable materials and compostables collected in the City. Together with our sister company, Zanker Road Resource Management, Ltd., we own and operate three complimentary processing facilities: a state-of-the-art Material Recovery Facility - the first of its kind facility where recyclable materials and solid waste are processed side-by-side; Zanker Road Landfill - a national leader in construction and demolition diversion, and Z-Best Composting in Gilroy - where yard trimmings and food waste are transformed into nutrient rich soil amendments.
The City of Palo Alto is committed to becoming a Zero Waste community by 2021. GreenWaste of Palo Alto is honored to provide collection and processing services in Palo Alto to help meet that commitment. We are dedicated to you, our customers, and we want to help you make a difference in your community. In partnership with residents, businesses and the City of Palo Alto, we are confident that we can work together to achieve the City's Zero waste goals.
As part of the GreenWaste commitment to help the City of Palo Alto reach the goal of zero waste, three Environmental Coordinators have been hired. These coordinators will work directly with businesses, residents and schools to decrease the amount of waste that ends up in landfills by diverting recyclable and compostable materials. All customers will be provided with Service Guides and educational materials that will explain the new and expanded services customers will receive.
