Established in 1940, Burbank Sanitary District is located in the unincorporated section of the County of Santa Clara, surrounded by the City of San Jose.

As of July 1, 2007, GreenWaste Recovery has been providing garbage, recycling and yard trimmings collection services to the residents of this area.
